WE ARE...

Changing The Narrative

Our Vision

The vision of 237 women on the move is to have a world where people everywhere recognise the intrinsic power of women’s potential.

Our Mission

Our mission is to mobilise financial, human and material resources to change the narrative about how the stories of African women are told and inspire women everywhere to live up to their God given potential.

What We Do

237 women on the move is poised to challenge and change the narrative about how the media portrays women.

About us

237 WOM is a media platform committed to increasing the representation of strong, intelligent, resilient and compassionate, women in the media and changing the narrative about how they are portrayed.
For several years there has been lots of clamouring for an increase in the number of women in decision making positions and a few women have been voted or appointed to some of these decision making positions.
However too often the stories told by the media about these women often paint a picture which suggests that women shouldn’t lead for one reason or another, while women find themselves sacrificing otherwise female attributes as they make their way up the corporate scale, which is unfortunate.

OUR PROJECTS

We Carry Out The Following Projects

Project 50/50

We mobilise resources and provide micro grants to underprivileged women to enable them to set up small businesses. The stories of these women are documented to give hope for women to thrive in spite of societal challenges.

237 Women On The Move Talk Show

We talk to women in decision making positions to change the narrative of how women are perceived in media and demonstrate that beyond access women are influencing changes and breaking glass ceilings as decision makers.

237 Women On The Move Magazine

We profile women who have distinguished themselves in all spheres of life and coordinate conversations that promote gender equality. We equally provide a platform for experts to respond to the most pressing issues affecting women in the world. The quarterly magazine is a reference for women thriving in a world that constantly attempts to shrink them.
